What is Block Therapy?
Block Therapy is a is a therapy, exercise, and meditation combined and is a wonderful complement to any exercise because it improves blood flow and mobility. My participants constantly tell me stories of how they feel better quickly. This therapy has many benefits which are that it improves circulation and lymphatic drainage, releases toxins, speeds healing of acute injuries, improves the appearance of skin and hair, and reduces cellulite. My own personal story is that I suffered from debilitating headaches after the age of 40 and nothing I did could make them go away so I would sit in a dark room and “sleep them off” if I could. After about 3 months of using the block, I reduced my headaches by over 80%. I am now headache free. This is one of the reasons I decided to teach it to others. I can see week after week what is changing in my participants bodies and how great they feel. It is too good not to share. Because I was already in the health and wellness field as a Personal Trainer, teaching Block Therapy was a very easy transition for me because I completely believe in it.
Block Therapy is a life changing method of tapping into conscious diaphragmatic breathing and increasing the flow of blood and oxygen to the entire body thereby feeding all of our cells. Block Therapy teaches us how to melt through areas in the tissue that are holding our bodies in a negative state and reach each cell, ultimately rejuvenating and regenerating them and improving cellular health. We all have pain and restrictions in our bodies that we must release and working with the block has been a game changer for me and many, many people. Watching the body change week after week brings me such joy and seeing the faces and bodies of clients feel better than they did when they started and it is a journey I wish to continue and monitor with my clients.
The individual lies on a therapeutic tool called the Block Buddy for a minimum of 3 minutes in each of 47 positions throughout the body. Wood is used as the therapeutic tool because, unlike artificial materials like foam or plastic, it shares similar density to bone. With gravity and body weight, the Block Buddy is able to sink deeply into the tissue, all the way to the bone. This pressure brings increased blood and oxygen into the area, thereby warming the connective tissue and “melting” the powerful seal between layers that creates unhealthy restrictions. The student is taught to use diaphragmatic breathing to bring into the body up to 600% more oxygen. This combination of increased oxygen, proper posture and alignment, and the freeing of adhesions form the basis of the system. Lying on this block is incredibly relaxing and takes the body out of fight or flight mode.
