We need to learn to look at good nutrition not as a means to stop disease but a tool to create overall good health. I do not believe in the word “diet” but more a completely different way of looking at food.

Do you eat at your desk or in your car while you are rushing from place to place? As a Nutrition and Wellness Specialist I will teach you to embrace healthy food and you will recognize that proper nutrition for you is about prevention of disease and feeling your best.

What should we eat?

In plain language, base your diet on garden vegetables, especially greens, lean meats, nuts and seeds, little starch, and very little sugar. That’s about as simple as we can get. Many have observed that keeping your grocery cart to the perimeter of the grocery store while avoiding the aisles is a great way to protect your health. Food is perishable. The stuff with long shelf life is all suspect. If you follow these simple guidelines you will benefit from nearly all that can be achieved through nutrition.
Sometimes the body goes through a transition or “detox” period when we begin to eat clean. You may feel achy, tired, and not very productive for a couple of weeks.

After about a two week period, you should notice something really cool begin to happen. Your energy returns, and not only that, it stays more constant throughout the day. You don’t feel as hungry or as often as you used to.,Your cravings for processed foods diminish and, after realizing what you have been missing out on all this time, you only want to eat higher quality foods. You only want to eat REAL FOODS. Welcome to the new you.

Over time, as you discover which foods are optimal for you and your goals, your list of “yes” and “no” foods are likely to change and loosen a bit. There is no single exact list of foods that works best for everyone.
